This Phanocloidea muricata was on the Brownsberg, Suriname, in February '17. ID thanks to Yannick.

Cheers,

Hello,

This is not a Carausius morosus (which is not native from South America even if the species has been introduced in many places in the world), but it's a male of the sub-family Diapheromerinae, tribe Diapheromerini and most probably genus Phanocloidea, maybe Phanocloidea muricata but can't be 100% sure with a single picture like this one.

Best wishes

Thank you, Yannick! I have some more pictures, see herewith...

I can also zoom in on some parts that are important for the identification, but I have no idea which parts are. I can also send you the originals, if that helps. If so, please drop me a line at info@vogelsoptexel.nl.

Kind regards,
Klaas

Sorry for the late reply, I'm quite sure it's Phanocloidea muricata, a common species in French Guiana, which should also be common in Suriname
