New meta-study on hunting pressure
« on: Tue, 18 April 2017, 01:18:46 PM »
A just published meta-study (in Science magazine) on the effects of hunting on populations of mammals and birds shows that roads and settlements are the main drivers behind hunting pressure (because they provide access to forests and other habitats). Even the populations in protected areas are declining because of hunting. :'(

That means that if we don't want depletion of animals in the forests of the Guianas, we should start with minimalizing the number of roads going into the interior and keep inaccessible areas as inaccessible as possible. #nomoreroads
