Jumping-spider at kaieteur , Guyana | Salticidae
« on: Thu, 17 March 2016, 10:52:58 PM »
This character was living in one of the Tank Bromeliads above the falls. Beautifully coloured - unfortunately my picture failed to catch the pale blue patterning on the "head/thorax" and the largely orange-red "abdomen". She was pretty big compared to the jumping-spiders I'm used to seeing in Canada! Perhaps about 10 - 12 mm, and of course, very active. Any ideas on the species? I'll be looking out for her when I return to Kaieteur in January 2017!

Impossible for me to ID as there is virtually nothing to see of the colors and patterns of the dorsal side. I would assume that only someone with lots of experience with Salticidae from the Guianas might have a shot at making a serious ID based on these photos.
