sphinx moth? caterpillar | Lepidoptera: Sphingidae / Notodontidae
« on: Tue, 07 November 2017, 02:14:56 PM »
Hello,

Last week I found this caterpillar near Fredberg, Suriname. I guess this would be a sphinx moth? Any clue for an exact species?

Thanks,
Dick

I don't know this caterpillar and it looks like a sphingid, but some Notodontidae also have ceterpillars like this, such as Bardaxima spp. Either of the two, I guess.

Do you have a photo on which all the legs of one side are visible?
