Frog eggs in savannah area
« on: Mon, 19 March 2018, 10:21:58 AM »
In a car track in the savanna, near the airport, I found these eggs, presumably from a frog. Can it be identified?

Kind regards,
Klaas

Hi, I have to disagree with Kontact. Boana boans makes mud nests like pictured below, which I do not see in your photo. That said, I do not know which species it belongs to.

Picture source: Matavelli, R., Campos, A. M., Mendonça, M. A., & de Andrade, G. V. (2013). New records of anurans in the state of Maranhão, Brazil: Hypsiboas boans (Linnaeus, 1758)(Hylidae) and Leptodactylus syphax Bokermann, 1969 (Leptodactylidae). Check List, 9(4), 899-901.
