Flowering forest herb | Chrysothemis rupestris (Gesneriaceae)
« on: Mon, 16 July 2018, 10:44:53 PM »
This small plant was growing in the undergrowth between the large stones adjecent to the Moedervallen rapids in the Central Suriname Nature Reserve. So far I've been unable to ID it. Help appreciated. :)

Cheers, Auke  :)

Hi Auke,
I think the plant is Chrysothemis rupestris, a species growing among boulders (as described in your message).
It does not occur in French Guiana (C. pulchella does, but its calyx is different and inflorescences contain much more flowers).
