Membracidae garded by black and white wasps
« on: Thu, 01 November 2018, 11:45:44 AM »
Nico Nieser was in Suriname in 1969/1970. He remembered seeing near Brownsweg from a distance of 25 m, how black and white Membracidae, likely Membracis foliata , were garded by black and white wasps and last were licking the honeydew from the first. This might explain the black and white colours of the Membracis.
Cheers,
Marcel
