Pseudomacraspis affinis (Laporte, 1840) - Rutelinae
« on: Sat, 29 December 2018, 01:39:36 PM »
Hi,

A male of Pseudomacraspis affinis (Laporte, 1840) ... this is what I got following the keys from book of Soula and this should be ssp affinis. Another ssp exist with the name amazonica that has a different genitalia (Soula is his book from 2002 is commenting if this maybe should be considered different species). This different subspecies has a different genitalia and can be seen here where a male (and female) from Ecuador that I have photographed can be seen cca 8 years ago.

The beetle from this post was collected in French Guiana: Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni: Galmot (near): around Gite Moutouch: at lighti: 1-6.february.2016: leg. Cosmin-O. Manci.

All my best,
Cosmin
