Title: Bird of prey in Lelydorp | Buteogallus meridionalis (Accipitridae)
Post by: Auke on Wed, 31 May 2017, 05:23:20 PM
Hi all,

Could someone help me ID this bird of prey that I spotted a couple of days ago soaring over the Neotropical Butterfly Park in Lelydorp, Wanica, Suriname? This is the only photo I got, and it's cropped but not compressed. A second specimen was flying close by, so I assume it may be a breeding pair.

Thanks, Auke

Looks like a Savanna Hawk, Buteogallus meridionalis, to me
